I Want to Know More, 5/24/2025

As we start 2 Samuel chapter 14, two old proverbs come to mind: 1) Out of sight, out of mind; 2) Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Absalom is a bitter, angry, young man, and he’s out to get revenge. He’s already had Amnon removed the the scene, and he’s plotting to remove David as well. But he is staying with his grandfather, King Talmai of Geshur. Joab is going to plan a ruse to get David to call for him, but before we get into that, let’s review how David got himself and his family into this mess.
