Joab is often seen in the story of David as being hardnosed and not especially spiritual. But during the battle with Ammon in 2 Samuel 10, we find a very spiritual statement from this man, which boils down to the thought ‘Let’s see what the Lord will do.’ Job is yielded to the Lord’s will in the matter of this battle, and ready to see how the Lord is going to do his work.
